Due to the greatest cultural and natural diversity there is
an enormous quantity of typical dishes from the coast, the
highlands and the jungle.
The Peruvian gastronomy stems mainly from the combination
of Spanish and indigenous cuisines with traditional native
Peruvian ingredients and with later influences from the cuisines
of China, Italy, West Africa and Japan, due to the arrival of
immigrants from those locations.
Nowadays the Peruvian cuisine is considered one of the favorites
in the world. Peruvian gastronomy has already been awarded
with the world heritage recognition at national level, and Peruvian
cuisine is now promoted as a tourist attraction on the same level
as say Machu Picchu.
