The 5000-year-old city of Caral, located 182 km north of Lima, in the Valley of Supe is considered the oldest civilization of America, almost as old as Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. The City of Caral is formed by a group of pyramids, which depict the large artistic, technological, and scientific advances that they achieved, surprising development compared to the total isolation and the cultural exchange of the cultures in the old world. Thanks to the discovery of this archeological city of Caral, now we have a new chronologic vision of the cities in America and the world.

Pick up at 6:30 am at designated meeting point; we will take the north Panamericana highway up to Vegeta town. Then we take a road through ditches and plantations, surrounded by the typical flora and fauna of the region. We will also have the opportunity to observe the irrigation canals in this desert zone, bean cultivation zones, caña brava, corn, yuca and interaction with the local communities. A guided visit on arrival to the archeological city of Caral. Here we will be able to appreciate 7 monumental pyramids, in two of which we can see the architectural distribution of the first civilization of Peru and America. There are also an amphitheater, central plazas, residential areas and religious centers. After the tour we will go to a popular town called Barranca where we will have lunch; we suggest the famous typical Peruvian dish called Tacu–Tacu with shellfish. The Lomas de Lachay National Reserve is located 105 Km north of Lima. It covers an area of 52070 acres. These Lomas are a result of a combination of climatologic factors typical from the coast, regulated by a particular geography. They happen at the point of contact between the mist coming from the ocean and the first slopes of the western Andes. In Lachay you can find 2 well-defined seasons very noticeable, the more remarkable wet season that goes from June to November, and the dry season from December to May. 74 species of plants have been registered in the Lomas of Lachay, 25 of them are endangered. Apart from the biodiversity of the reserve, here we find cave paintings (pre-historic paintings made by ancient Peruvian population) and an archeological site of pre-Inca cultures, as well as rock formations of granite and diorite, which time and erosion have molded into interesting geologic forms.
