 |
| The department of Puno, bordering with Bolivia, rises over 3,700 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by the magic of Lake Titicaca, the largest in South America and the highest navigable lake in the world. A blend of the Quechua and Aymara cultures can be found in Puno. You will enjoy magnificent landscapes, islands and native communities lost in time, pre-Inca temples dedicated to the sun and the moon, and a cultural identity like no other in the continent. The traveler looking for a real experience will enjoy a visit to the Amantaní and Taquile islands and the unique activities programmed there, while staying with a local family. Another attraction is the floating islands of the Uros, made of totora (reeds), where ancient Andean traditions are still preserved. You can also visit the royal tombs of Sillustani, or simply benefit with the peace and tranquility of one of the most beautiful places in this part of the world. |
