Peru Specialized Travel, Salcantay Trek

The Salcantay Mountain (6,271 meters / 20,471 feet above sea level), part of the Vilcanota mountain range, was called "Apu" by the Incas and was worshipped as a deity of guidance and protection. Salcantay dominates a great part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the spectacular Vilcanota Mountains are the principal starting point for trekking programs. The whole area is filled with majestic natural landscapes and attractive Inca archaeological sites.
